Personal Project

This was an illustration for a close friend of mine. The story of Icarus is a tale as old as time and rings true to so many people. To me, it's a beautiful story of hope and despair. The illustration on the left depicts the climax of the story.

This is one of the first illustrations I did that included a proper background, so I spent a lot of time redoing the background to get the feel that I needed to complete the overall vibe. I finally found some references that captured my vision for the drawing perfectly, and I used them as well as I could to encapsulate the look that I was going for.
